I have extensive health sector experience from my managerial roles in both primary and secondary services. My background is in business management and also in iwi environmental and social service sectors. I am a chartered member of the Institute of Directors and sit on many boards across Aotearoa.
I believe that Māori health workforce development led by Māori, with Māori, is a critical factor in providing quality services for our People. Te Rau Ora provides high-quality Māori health workforce development, through an indigenous lens, which is necessary for today’s context. Through my appointment, I am able to provide governance in the hopes of enabling our people to achieve Pae Ora, their way.
Eugene Berryman-Kamp has recently been appointed to the role of Deputy Chairperson for the Te Rau Ora Company Board of Directors. Eugene is currently employed as the Director of Te Mana o Te Wai and Implementation Partnerships at the Ministry for the Environment. Eugene is also involved in several board roles including Chairperson for Korowai Aroha Health Centre, Deputy Chairperson for the Te Arawa Whānau Ora, and Co-Chair of the PHARMAC Maori Advisory Committee.
