We are thrilled to introduce the newly launched Pari Kawau app—an interactive tool created to support the Pae Tata Pae Tawhiti brief and early intervention model; and practitioners and students seeking to enhance the development of their clinical and cultural practice skills. Developed by Te Rau Ora and KIWA Digital, this App is compatible with both Android and iPhone devices, and best of all, it’s available for free download from their respective app stores. Pari Kawau allows practitioners to provide and receive observed practice feedback, helping them effectively enhance a range of clinical and cultural skills.
Real-Time Skill Evaluation
With the Pari Kawau app, during live sessions, recorded sessions, or role-playing scenarios, observers can record and assess practitioners’ use of therapeutic skills, including the use of Te Reo Māori and cultural principles based on the TAWHITI trauma informed harm reduction principles. Practitioners receive personalised feedback through email from observers, providing helpful insights into their sessions and identifying areas where they can improve. Observers also have the option to include a short voice message to make the feedback more personal. This easy and effective communication promotes collaboration, professional development, and enhanced cultural understanding among practitioners. See it in action here.
