About
As a national workforce centre, Te Rau Ora has had the privilege of enabling and supporting emerging leaders, workforces, networks, community groups and professional organisations.
Māori leadership is a significant enabler for achieving Māori health equity and wellbeing. There is greater support and training for current and aspiring Māori health and disability leaders. Māori leaders have more opportunities to guide decision-making, network, share and collaborate.
Māori leaders often head up complex organisations, navigating traditional and contemporary influences. They are charged with leading (often) marginalised communities, and weaving Māori kaupapa (purpose, policy) with contemporary influences on leadership styles and practices.
