Retiring Board Member – John Walters  

John Walters (Te Aupōuri) is one of the longest servicing Director of the Te Rau Matatini and now Te Rau Ora Company Board. John was first appointed as Director of the Te Rau Matatini Company Board on 07 June 2005.

John is the founding partner of Walters Law. He specialises in property, general commercial / corporate business law, trusts, and wills. Walters Law acts for a wide range of clients including small and large corporates and businesses; Maori Trusts, Incorporations, and Iwi; and personal clients.

John has extensive corporate governance experience as a company director for private, publicly listed and Crown-owned companies and has served as an elected member of the Auckland District Law Society; and was a Treaty claims negotiator for his Iwi, Te Aupōuri.

John has made significant contributions to the growth and development of Te Rau Ora over these past 17 years.
