This programme involves the launch and promotion of Awareness of Suicide in the Kaipara – ASK, under Kaipara Abuse Prevention Inc in the planning and implementation of capacity building in the Kaipara community to prevent suicide and, to respond effectively if and when suicide occurs.

The Kiwai Rangahau,Te Rau Matatini evaluation team was commissioned to undertake a review of the Waka Hourua Fund. The focus of this review therefore was to assess and determine how the ASK programme implementation aligns to the overall intent, and design of the programme and what actually happened during its implementation (how much, how well, and is anybody better off).
